Law of Attraction
It is easy to understand with the law of attraction. It is similarity attracts similarity, in the concepts of nature characteristic. Calm will attract similar characteristic too, like patient, controlled, peace, etc. To understand this, you can understand by this concepts of law of attraction.
All of our life is based law of attraction. When you feel fragile, then suddenly all of your environment suggesting those things. The world seems push you around. That's also happening in spiritual energy. When you feel grateful and happy, all the good things come to you.
The difference is your intimacy to your God. Your surrender to God let Him guides you the way. That's the difference between concept of law of attraction. We forget God in our activities. In whatever condition, you should bring God near you.
